Career Day – #5: Congressional Communications Director Sean Magers

Illinois Congressman Aaron Schock resigned this week after weeks of reporters about his rather extravagant spending habits. That makes for an interesting time for the staffers. Sean Magers is the Communications Director for Congressman Paul Tonko from the 20th district in New York, interestingly enough Aaron Schock’s next door neighbor in the Rayburn House Office Building. Sean talked with Keith Conrad about how he became a Communications Director, what’s the job is like and what’s going through the minds of staffers when politicians screw up.
